Are you curious what Cortana thinks of Siri, Google Now, or the infamous Master Chief? How about past and present CEOs of Microsoft? Cortana has a surprising number of amusing answers for a variety of topics, and all you have to do is ask. The perky little voice assistant still doesn’t quite sound like the troubled blue AI for everyone’s favorite Spartan, but it’s hard not to laugh at some of the answers she gives.
Easter Eggs aside, Microsoft really has put a lot of hard work into Cortana. For an early version release in a developer preview, it is more than a little impressive. By the time developers get their hands on the third party APIs and the multi-step search system becomes more complex, Cortana will be more than capable of competing with Siri and Google Now.
Of course, Siri is busy growing into the car and Google Now is busy growing onto our eyes and wrists, so maybe a service that is explicitly focused on being a good voice assistant is exactly what Windows Phone fans need right now.
